About PB Motorsport

PB Motorsport is a registered business name of the partnership of Jim Boughton and Peter Paddon started in August 2005. We're based in Sydney, NSW.

In 2007 we're sharing a Datsun 1600 that is entered as a 3J Improved Production Over 2 litre. This is the second year that we've campaigned this car.

The website will be updated often as we're trying to compete in at least one event every month during the 2007 racing season. If you would like to be notified of events that PB Motorsport is competing at, results, and other information of interest please email us at jim@intelliband.net.au.

In case you're wondering, Pete and I have a black and white history in that Pete previously owned a black MR2 turbo and Jim owned a white MR2 turbo and now we own a black and white Datsun. We've continued the monochromatic theme to this website.

History of PB Motorsport

Pete and Jim met through the MR2 Owners Club of Australia (NSW branch) in early 2004. Both owned MR2 turbos and enjoyed getting the most out of their cars and driving by competing in the NSW CAMS super sprint series and the MR2 club track days.

The supersprint series was an excellent introduction to driving on a race track but after competing for over a year in the MR2s both decided that stepping up to racing was the next step. Modifying the MR2s and finding a suitable category that they would be competitive in appeared more difficult than buying a "ready-to-race" car.

After much discussion (and many beers) we decided that improved production was the category for us. Pete came across the Datsun 1600 in August 2005 and, even though it wasn't in great shape at the time, it had a good history and potential to be competitive again. Pete and Jim bought the Datto and PB Motorsport began.

Mission Statement

Even though we're not a big corporation we still have some fundamental ideas of what PB Motorsport does and why we're doing it.
