datto in original condition The "datto" was purchased in August 2004 by PB Motorsport.

It wasn't much to look at as the colours it was painted (blue and orange) were an eyesore and the damage down the driver's side made it look like the last round it had entered was a demolition derby. The datto (aka "wags" due to its tendency to wag the tail around in corners) is actually a CAMS log booked 3J improved production car.

PB Motorsport had the damage repaired, flared guards added, and the car repainted in PB Motorsport colours.

  • Powered by an SR20DET Nissan 2 litre, 4 cylinder turbo.

  • Engine management is via a Motec M4.
  • The Motec is hooked up to an Aim dash that also acts as a data logger.
  • The current turbo is a stock T28 although the car originally came with a larger turbo.
  • The air from the turbo is cooled by the front mount intercooler that has computer controlled water sprayers.
  • The gearbox is a stock 5 speed.
  • The diff is locked.
  • The wheels are 15x6.5 inch with originally 205/60/15 tyres but now 205/50/15.

Jim's MR2 turbo

jim's MR2 Jim purchased his white 1997 model Toyota MR2 SW20 GT-S in 2002. It was brought in as a 1995 model to comply with local regulations. Unlike the locally delivered MR2s this one had a hard top and a turbo charged engine. This car has now been sold.

Pete's MR2 Pete purchased his 1992 model Toyota MR2 SW20 GT-S in 2003. It was a grey import hard top the same as Jim's. This car has now been sold.
